Investor and renovation appraisal questions
What is an after-repair value appraisal?
An after-repair value (ARV) appraisal estimates what a property would be worth once planned improvements are complete. It is the figure that tells you whether a renovation makes financial sense before you commit to it.
Can you tell me which renovations will add the most value?
That is one of the main things these reports are for. The analysis identifies which improvements are most likely to increase the property’s value, which is often not the same as the ones that look most appealing.
Do you also appraise properties as they stand?
Yes. We provide as-is valuations alongside after-repair value, so you can see what a property is worth today and what it could be worth after the work, side by side.
How does an appraisal help me evaluate return on investment?
Comparing the as-is value, the projected after-repair value and the cost of the work gives you a grounded view of potential return before any money is spent, rather than a hopeful estimate afterwards.
Who uses investor appraisals?
Real estate investors, house flippers and homeowners planning significant renovations or additions. The same analysis supports investment, financing and resale decisions.
Should I get an appraisal before or after choosing a contractor?
Before, in most cases. Knowing which improvements actually move the value is what tells you which scope of work is worth quoting in the first place.
